India buys many items from ‘enemy countries’, full list of items which India buys from Pakistan, Turkey, China, Bangladesh

New Delhi: India has many friendly countries around the world and there are also enemy countries like Pakistan and China. However despite enmity countries need each other in many matters. Despite tensions in relations trade relations between two countries do not end until war-like situations arise. Lets know what India buys from its enemy countries.
From Pakistan
Rock salt: India is largely dependent on Pakistan for rock salt especially during fasts and religious events. This salt coming from Pakistans Khewra mine is a part of every Indian kitchen. However from 2019-20 India has also started importing it from Saudi Arabia.
Multani mitti: India imports Multani Mitti from Pakistan which is widely used in cosmetics. It is used in skin problems and Ayurvedic treatments.
Leather and Cotton: India imports leather goods and raw cotton in large quantities from Pakistan. These products are important for the Indian textile and leather industry. In 2022 India-Pak trade was $ 2.5 billion.
Fruits and dry fruits: Fresh fruits like watermelon and dry fruits (almonds raisins) come to India in large quantities from Pakistan. They reach the markets of Delhi via Kashmir.
From Turkey/Turkiye
India imports handmade carpets mosaic lamps and decorative tiles from Turkey. These are sold in markets like Hauz Khas in Delhi and Colaba in Mumbai.
Olive oil dry fruits (walnuts almonds hazelnuts) and cherries from Turkey are popular in India. There is a huge demand for them in supermarkets in big cities.
From China
India imports electronic goods such as televisions sound recorders and spare parts from China. Electronics worth $3000 crore were imported in 2021-22 which accounts for 70% of the total imports. It meets Indias technical requirements.
From Bangladesh
India imports textiles and chemical products from Bangladesh which are important for the fashion industry. Bangladeshs textile industry is an economical and quality source for India. This trade shows the strong economic ties between the two countries.
