India's Response to Escalating Conflict

New Delhi: In light of Israel's recent military actions targeting Iran's nuclear and military facilities, India has expressed its "deep concern" regarding the escalating tensions in West Asia. The Indian government is actively monitoring the situation and has urged both nations to refrain from further escalation.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has advised all Indian citizens in the region to remain cautious, prioritize their safety, and adhere to local security guidelines.

This statement follows Israel's launch of Operation Rising Lion, which reportedly resulted in the deaths of significant military figures and nuclear scientists in Iran.

The Israeli military has also shared footage from one of the operations, which has been covered by various media outlets.

International reports indicate that Israel has conducted multiple strikes across different locations in Iran.

"We are deeply concerned about the recent developments between Iran and Israel. We are closely monitoring the evolving situation, including reports related to attacks on nuclear sites," the MEA stated.

As tensions rise in West Asia, India has called on both parties to avoid any actions that could escalate the conflict.

The MEA emphasized the importance of utilizing existing diplomatic channels to de-escalate the situation and address the underlying issues.

India reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining "close and friendly relations" with both nations and expressed its readiness to provide any necessary support.

"Our missions in both countries are in contact with the Indian community. All Indian nationals in the region are advised to exercise caution, stay safe, and follow local security advisories," the statement added.

The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) stated that the strikes enhance the operational capabilities of the Israeli Air Force.

Earlier, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu remarked that Israel had targeted the core of Iran's nuclear enrichment efforts.

In response to the strikes, the Iranian armed forces declared that there would be "no limits" to their retaliation.

Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, warned that Israel would face "severe punishment" for its actions.

In light of the situation, the Indian embassies in both Israel and Iran have issued advisories through their social media accounts.

"Advisory: Given the current situation in the region, all Indian nationals in Israel are urged to remain vigilant and follow safety protocols as advised by local authorities. Please exercise caution, avoid unnecessary travel, and stay close to safety shelters," the Indian Embassy in Israel posted on social media.

"ADVISORY: In light of the current situation in Iran, all Indian nationals and persons of Indian origin are advised to remain vigilant, avoid unnecessary movements, and follow the Embassy's social media accounts for updates," the Indian Embassy in Iran posted on X.
