Drivers have been warned of traffic chaos on the M62 following a lorry crash. The motorway is shut in both directions near Warrington this morning.

It follows a collision which has caused a fuel spillage. The lorry hit a barrier on the A49 Winwick Road, which runs above the motorway, with fuel leaking to the M62 below. National Highways said that workers are on the scene clearing the spillage and that drivers should expect delays of around one hour.
