This accident is considered to be one of the most horrific aircraft accidents of the last decade not only India but also globally. Come, understand every aspect of this heartbreaking incident and know the story of Ramesh that defeated death.

Scattered on the ground from the sky

At 1:39 pm, when AI-171 flew from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad, no one knew that this flight would turn into a tragedy in a few moments. Boeing 787 Dreamliner, known for its technical credibility, reached a height of only 625 feet that it fell on a nearby medical college hostel. At that time, students were having lunch in the hostel, due to which many people lost their lives on the ground. The debris scattered between the fire and the smoke immersed the entire area into mourning.

Ramesh’s miraculous story: Emergency exit saved life

The only survivor of this accident, Ramesh Vishvesh Kumar, was sitting on the seat 11A at that time, which was right near the Emergency Exit. Police officer Vidhi Chaudhary said that this seat of Ramesh proved to be the turning point of his life. As soon as the aircraft caught fire, Ramesh jumped from the emergency door, showing prudence. Ramesh told the media from the hospital bed, “When I opened my eyes, there were corpses all around. I got nervous and bus ran. The plane pieces were scattered.” In a video viral viral on social media, Ramesh was seen on the road with a blood-soaked T-shirt and an injured face, where medical staff were helping him.

Shadow mourning in family

Ramesh came to meet his family in India with his brother Ajay and was returning to London. This incident put his family in deep shock. Ramesh’s cousin Ajay Walgi, who lives in Leester, Britain, told the BBC, “Ramesh just said that he is fine. But his brother Ajay has not been detected yet. Our whole family is in shock.” Ramesh is married and has a son, who is completely broken by this news.

Hard questioned questions

India’s aviation investigating agency Aaib and America’s NTSB are working jointly to find out the cause of the accident. Experts believe that the black box will play an important role in solving this mystery. Was it a technical flaw, the case of human error, or engine failure? This is the first major fatal accident of Boeing 787 Dreamliner, due to which the investigation has become even more complicated. Experts say that the analysis of the black box may take time, but it will highlight the truth behind the accident.
