Government will bring the rule of AC temperature – electricity will be tremendous

Soon you will not get complete freedom to set the temperature of your air conditioner (AC) with will. The central government is considering a proposal, under which a fixed operating temperature of AC can be determined. Its aim is to save electricity and promote energy efficiency.

🌡 Effect bigger than just 1 ° C!
You will be surprised to know that by changing only 1 degree temperature, there can be a difference of 3% to 6% in power consumption.
Example:
If you run the AC at 25 ° C instead of 24 ° C, then every hour saves about 50 watts of electricity.

💰 Power saving = money savings
A 5-star inverter of 1.5 tonnes spends about 1 unit/h at AC, 24 ° C.

If you run 8 hours daily and keep the temperature 25 ° C, then you can save up to ₹ 100–150 every month.

This savings can reach ₹ 1200 to ₹ 2000 throughout the year!

⚙ Not just temperature, correct model is also necessary
Energy is not just from temperature – it also depends on the quality of your AC:

Acs with 5-star ratings eat less power.

ACs with inverter technology work according to the requirement of the room.

Clean filters, good insulation, and use with fans also reduce power consumption.

🏛 Government’s plan – small changes, big impact
The goal of this policy is to reduce the load on the power grid, especially in summer, when there is the highest demand for electricity in big cities.
If AC is fixed at 24 ° C or 25 ° C throughout the country, then it can prove to be a big step towards saving electricity.

🔜 What can happen next?
The government may soon issue a guideline, in which AC’s default temperature will be 24 ° C or 25 ° C.

Manufacturers can be asked to bring their ACS to the market with pre-set temperature.

However, users may get limited freedom to adjust the temperature to some extent.
