Many parts of Delhi and North India were facing excessive heat and heatwave in recent times, but now there is hope of relief. According to the latest report of India Meteorological Department (IMD), Orange Alert has been removed in Delhi and its surrounding areas. Light to moderate rainfall is expected between 14 and 20 June, which will lead to a drop in day and night temperatures.
On June 14, the maximum temperature is expected to be 40 ° C and the minimum is 29 ° C. There is a possibility of thunderstorms with light rain. On June 15, the maximum temperature is expected to be 39 ° C and the minimum is 28 ° C, while the humidity will be between 70–45% and there is a possibility of thunderstorms.
On 16 and 17 June, it will be cloudy and moderate rain is possible. On 18 and 19 June, there is a possibility of thunderstorms or thunderstorms, with a minimum temperature falling to 26 ° C. The monsoon has reached Kerala on 24 May, which was the earliest since 2009. It reached Mumbai, Central Maharashtra and Northeast India by 29 May.
Its speed remained slow till 10–11 June, but now it has become active again. By June 18, the monsoon can reach the remaining parts of Central and Eastern India.
The monsoon is expected to arrive in Delhi by June 22-23, while it usually comes on 30 June. The monsoon can spread to most parts of northwest India by 25 June.
There will be no major change in temperature in the next 24 hours in northwest, central and eastern India. The temperature is expected to fall by 2–5 degrees Celsius in the next 5 days. The temperature will remain normal in other parts.
According to the IMD, the onset date of the monsoon is not necessarily shown the total seasonal rainfall. It depends on many complex factors, such as global, regional and local effects. Therefore, early monsoon arrives does not mean whether the rain will start quickly or will be more.
