Viewers of ITV's The 1% Club, hosted by comedian Lee Mack, have admitted to "face palming" after realising the obvious answer to a question.
The popular gameshow sees 100 contestants answering questions that have already been answered by the general public, with each round becoming progressively more difficult.
Each contestant begins with a £1,000 stake and must lock in their answers within 30 seconds to progress to the next round or pass after the 50% question.
Those who reach the final round could win up to £100,000 or share the prize pot.
Meanwhile, viewers at home can enjoy playing along on the app, reports Bristol Live.
While many fans have confessed to being "bamboozled" by tricky questions, a recent one left them frustrated due to its simplicity.
The question showed a grid with seemingly random letters and four question marks, asking: "What animal is missing?"
Initially, it appeared as though the letters were placed randomly, but upon reading the rows vertically and then horizontally, it was revealed to be a nursery rhyme.
The first row read: O N E T W O, the second: T H R E E F, the third: O U R F I V, the fourth: E O N C E I, the fifth: C A U G H T, the sixth: A ? ? ? ? A, and the final one, with the last two spots blank: L I V E.
The clue shared on the Facebook page was labelled a 5% brain teaser, with the user confessing they hadn't tried to solve it themselves.
Upon realising the answer, they expressed their frustration, admitting: "Facepalmed when I saw the answer as well."
Viewers felt equally exasperated, as it dawned on them that if they had read vertically and hummed a familiar tune, they would have discovered the missing word was "fish".
"Oh god, when you see it!!!! My brain is squeezing," one remarked, indicating the facepalm moment of realisation.
The nostalgic charm of singing a classic rhyme prompted another to comment: "Had to sing the rhyme for old times sake."
A third eventually found the answer, stating: "Fish. But took me longer than 30 seconds," noting the challenge of the puzzle.
A fourth fumed that a fish didn't count as an animal, as the question had stated, while someone else commented: "OMG! That took WAYYYY longer than needed..."
Amidst the confusion, one person vented their irritation, saying: "This is one of the worst questions I've ever seen. This isn't even anything witty, you just have to know a rhyme lol. I noticed the numbers but how tf could I know the word unless I know the rhyme. Soooo dumb."
Echoing the sentiment, another concurred: "This one SUCKS because if you don't know the nursery rhyme, you could guess any four letter animal. Bird, frog... anything. FFS."
