Darbhanga (Bihar), 14 June | Rahui gandhi darbhanga program: A major administrative action has been taken in the matter of organizing the program of Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha in Ambedkar Hostel located in Darbhanga district of Bihar. District Welfare Officer Alok Kumar has been suspended by the Social Welfare Department. This action has been taken due to organizing political programs without permission in the hostel.

What is the matter?

On 15 May 2025, a program of Rahul Gandhi was organized in the auditorium of Ambedkar Hostel. The event was promoted as a dialogue with the students (Rahui Gandhi Darbhanga Program), but it was seen as a political gathering, which is against departmental rules.

What was said in the departmental order?

The order issued by the Additional Secretary of Social Welfare Department said that “Political discussion, gathering or public in any hostel premises run by the welfare department Political program Conducting is clearly restricted (Rahui Gandhi Darbhanga Program). Despite this, the District Welfare Officer failed to stop the event. ”

District Magistrate recommended

After the incident, the District Magistrate of Darbhanga took cognizance and formed a charge sheet on 15 May and recommended disciplinary action against Alok Kumar. This suspension order was issued on the basis of the same recommendation.
