Iran resumed missile attacks on Israel late Saturday, June 14, marking a second day of retaliation for earlier Israeli strikes. Rockets were also reported over Jordan’s capital, Amman.
Iranian missiles struck multiple locations in northern Israel, killing three people and injuring 14, Israeli media reported late Saturday. The Tamra area in Lower Galilee suffered the casualties.
Earlier, Iranian anti-aircraft defenses responded to Israeli attacks in Tehran and the port city of Bandar Abbas, with local media reporting loud explosions.
Israel confirmed the new wave of strikes, further escalating tensions between the two countries..
The Israeli army said it is “operating to intercept missiles launched from Iran” and that its forces are “currently striking military targets in Tehran.”
Iranian news agency Tasnim reported Saturday that an Israeli strike targeted the country’s defense ministry headquarters in Tehran, damaging one building.
“In an attack on Tehran this evening by the air force of the Zionist regime, the headquarters of the defense ministry was targeted. One of the headquarters’ buildings was lightly damaged,” the agency said..
Since the confrontation began Friday, Israel has targeted Iranian nuclear and missile facilities, killing senior military officials and scientists.
Iran’s U.N. envoy said at least 78 people have been killed and 320 wounded in the attacks.

In response, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian warned that continued Israeli aggression would be met with a “stronger and more decisive” retaliation.
State television reported that “heavy and destructive” counterstrikes against Israel were expected within hours.
Iran has fired multiple missile barrages since the conflict escalated Friday.
Additionally, Israeli forces struck the Shahran oil depot near Tehran and a smaller facility in southern Tehran, Iranian state news agency ISNA reported Saturday.
Explosions echoed across western Tehran as the attacks unfolded, according to an Anadolu correspondent.
The strikes represent Israel’s continued military operations against Iranian targets since dawn Friday.
