So far, Spacex has launched more than 100 Starlink Mission. The company’s aim is to create the world’s largest and fastest spreading satellite broadband network. The Department of Telecommunications (DOT) of the Government of India has issued GMPCS (Global Mobile Personal Communication by Satellite) license to Starlink. After this approval, Starlink will now be able to start its satellite internet services in India.
Starlink India has become the third company to obtain GMPCS license in India. Earlier, Onweb (Bharti Airtel YouTelsat) and Reliance Jio have received this license. In 2021, Starlink tried to enter the Indian market, but due to regulatory hurdles, the company had to return the money to its pre-order customers. Now the company is making a comeback with government approval and is preparing to start internet service in India.
