The Philippines ranked first on a list of 10 most dangerous countries to travel following a global survey conducted by U.K.’s financial comparison site HelloSafe.

The site compiled this travel safety index based on 35 different criteria that were boiled down into five categories: the frequency of natural disasters, societal violence, involvement in armed conflict (internal or external), health infrastructure and militarization.

Nations were rated on a scale from 0 to 100 with 0 representing the safest and 100 being the most dangerous.

The Philippines scored 82.31 points, followed by Colombia (79.21), Mexico (78.42), India (77.86) and Russia (75.65).

The Southeast Asian country recorded several murders of tourists this year. Two South Koreans were shot and killed by robbers in March and April this year. Another was kidnapped by a group of armed men last month, but was later rescued by Filipino police, who also arrested two Chinese kidnappers.

In the first four months of this year, the Philippines welcomed 1.93 million visitors, a 0.83% decrease year-on-year, according to data from the Department of Tourism.

Last year, the country received 5.4 million foreign arrivals.
