The first question on knocked out a staggering 10 players, despite it being the easiest of them all. The ITV quiz show, hosted by Lee Mack, tests the logic and common sense of 100 individuals who have the chance to walk away with £100,000 if they answer every question correctly.

The programme's questions are put to the public and the percentage of who gets it correct determines the difficulty of each round. However, despite the 90% question supposedly being the easiest to solve, it can trip the contestants up.

In a recent episode of the show, Lee asked: "Lee read out the question: "Logically, which of these children's characters could be included in this sequence?"

The sequence "Humpty Dumpty, Tinky Winky, Andy Pandy" was then shown on screen. The 100 contestants were given 30 seconds to choose which option was correct out of "Postman Pat" or "Incy Wincy".

While the contestants were thinking, Lee quipped: "Actually, these are all nicknames I use for my, um... actually, forget that."

Too many, the pattern was obvious - each of the character's names are made up of two words which rhyme. This meant the correct answer was "Incy Wincy".

He explained: "The right answer is Incy Wincy because the sequence is made up of characters whose names rhyme so Incy Wincy is the only correct option."

But a huge chunk of the players did not spot the pattern, meaning they were eliminated after the first round. Last week's Soccer Aid special saw fans described as "simple".

Lee read out the question: "Which of these is an anagram of LIONEL MESSI?" Alongside the question were three anagrams: "LONE MISSILE", "LION IN SLIME" and "NO SMILES LEE".

The correct answer was A - "LONE MISSILE". Despite it being regarded as one of the easier questions, it stumped a number of players, including actor Emmett J. Scanlan. "Mate. I was going to do A as well. I did B," the former Hollyoaks star said, admitting he chose at random after "panicking".

Lee then revealed one of his "footballer heroes", Stuart Pearce, was also knocked out by the question. The former England footballer declared: "I'm out. Panic set in."

Retired footballer Jermaine Pennant also tripped up on the question, explaining he opted for the answer with 'Lion' as it made him think of Lionel Messi.
