Google is rapidly adding its AI model Gemini to all its services. Gemini’s integration continues to improve the experience of users everywhere, be it smartphone or desktop. Recently, Google has introduced an extremely useful feature for Drive users – PDF Summary Cards.

What is PDF Summary Card feature?
Now you will not need to read long PDF files. Gemini AI in Google Drive will now show you a summary of PDF and show you as a card in the side panel. This will give the necessary information in a glimpse.

Rollout started from June 12
This feature has started rolling out for Google Drive users from June 12. However, it may take about 15 days to reach all users.

Support in 20+ languages
Google has introduced this feature in more than 20 languages. This includes languages ​​like Hindi, English, French, Spanish, Japanese, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, which makes this feature globally useful.

Which users will benefit?
This facility is currently available only for some Google Workspace Accounts:

Business Standard / Plus

Education Standard / Plus

Gemini Education / Premium Add-ors

Google Ai Pro / AI Ultra Plans

Note: Private Gmail users will not get this facility.

How to work?
When you open a PDF in Google Drive, a side panel will appear in the right side.

The summary card of that PDF will be seen here.

If you want more details, you can also see extended information by clicking “show more”.

Ask Gemini questions, get smart answers
You can also give command to Gemini through these summary cards. As:

Resume the main qualifications

PDF to understand and summarize the main points

Files shared will also get updates
Google Drive has also added another AI feature, which shows the summary of the changes made in the shared files. This will make teamwork and file tracking even easier.
