will launch helicopter and boat rides in an Italian region loved by tourists this summer. Luxury travellers will be able to book helicopter rides to Capri, while an Uber Boat will cruise along the Amalfi Coast.
Uber Copter will set off from an exclusive helipad in Sorrento to the lavish island of using a private dual-engine, dual-pilot helicopter. Groups of up to six people can pre-book the return flights, which cost €250 (£212) per head or €1500 (£1,276) in total, including a transfer from anywhere on the Amalfi Coast.
In contrast, local boats from Sorrento to Capri cost between €19 (£16) and €27 (£23) per person, depending on the operator. Journey time can vary from 20 to 30 minutes.
Up to 12 holidaymakers could also book a four-hour private chartered cruise along the in an Italian Gozzo 35 boat through Uber Boat.
A private skipper will set off from Sorrento Marina and sail along the iconic coast, and tourists can tuck into snacks and beverages on board.
Uber Copter and Uber Boat will be available in less than a month, running every weekend from July 26 to August 23. They can be booked from anywhere in Italy through Uber Reserve, with a minimum of 48 hours' notice.
The helicopter rides will depart at 9am from Sorrento and return at 5pm from Capri, while the four-hour cruise will set sail a little later at 10am from Sorrento's marina.
Uber will also launch its scheduled ride service, Uber Reserve, on land, which it hopes will meet demand following the launch of international flights at
