Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): “I was not ready to believe at first that the body shown to me by Meghalaya police belonged to my younger brother Raja as I had never imagined that I will see him in such a condition,” said Raja Raghuvanshi’s elder brother Vipin while recalling the moments when he saw his brother’s decomposed body.
Vipin Raghuvanshi was in Bhopal on Sunday to attend a programme of Raghuvanshi Samaj to pay tributes to Raja and those killed in the plane crash at Ahmedabad airport.
Aggrieved and broken, Vipin in a choked voice told media persons that police were still investigating the gruesome murder and the family was cooperating with them.
“At first, I believed that the body belonged to some other person. However, I had to accept the truth when I saw Raja’s hand on which his name was tattooed. I was so unfortunate that I even did not get a chance to hug my brother as the body was in a decomposed state. After this incident, I wish that no man should meet a fate like my brother. No person should leave his family like this,” said Raja while demanding strict action against those involved in the murder and conspiracy.
Raghuvanshi Samaj president Surendra Raghuvanshi said that the community was in a deep shock and grief over the brutal murder of Raja. “The community stands with the victim and his family,” he added.
Candle march to demand death for Sonam
The family members of Raja Raghuvanshi and people from different communities took out a candle march from Nehru Park to Regal Square on Sunday evening, seeking justice for Raja Raghuvanshi. They demanded capital punishment for Sonam and her accomplices by raising slogan, “Hatyaro ko Fansi Do” (Give death penalty to killers). The brother of Raja, Sachin Raghuvanshi had worn a T-shirt with the quote ‘Justice is due’.
