For those of us with busy lives, it's not possible to have a perfectly home 24/7. Other things are simply more important, and require more of our care and attention.
Having said that, a space equals a clean mind, and there's nothing worse than trying to deal with a messy home when you're already stressed. But you don't need to spend hours a day frantically cleaning in order to stay on top of things. Mum and lifestyle influencer on says there's a simple morning checklist that everyone can do, that'll make your home feel so much cleaner.
In a recent video, she said: "If you love the feeling of a clean home, but don't want to spend all day cleaning, these simple morning routine shifts can make a big difference."
With each one taking just a few minutes, this routine serves as an easy and manageable way to make your house feel that little bit more put-together.
1. Making the bedThis is something that most of us probably do anyway, but it's a great way to feel productive as soon as you wake up in the morning. If you really want to keep your bed looking fresh, Chantel recommends changing the pillowcases every three days.
A great way to improve your productivity is doing some kind of chore whilst waiting for something. Giving an example, Chantel says she puts on a load of laundry every morning while her coffee is brewing.
She said: "I always aim for one load every day to prevent it from piling up."
3. Wipe down bathroomConvenience is key when trying to keep a clean home. And one thing that can really help is keeping a cloth in your bathroom cupboard, ready to wipe down the sink every day to prevent too much mess from building up.
4. Quick cleansWe've all heard of - and probably tried - the famous Sunday reset routine that has dominated TikTok for a few years now. But instead of dedicating a full day to cleaning, which is just impractical, Chantel recommends putting aside 15 minutes each day for a smaller-scale reset.
5. Deal with clutterFinally, one of the biggest culprits of a messy-looking home is clutter lying around. To prevent this, make sure everything has a place in your home, and ensure it goes in its place.
A quick zip around the house, either in the morning or at night, to put away any clutter is a really simple way to prevent too much mess from building up.
