PM Modi Cyprus Visit News in Hindi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of Makios III on Monday to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He is currently on an official visit to Nicosia on the invitation of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, His Excellency Shri Nicos Christodolidase.

Prime Minister Modi was officially welcomed at Rashtrapati Bhavan in Nicosia, where he was warmly welcomed by President Christodolidase. Prime Minister Modi also laid a wreath on the statue of Archbishop Makios III, a prestigious person in the history of Cyprus.

Prime Minister Modi expressed his heartfelt gratitude, dedicating this honor to 140 crore Indians and long -term friendship between India and Cyprus.

“President ji, for the Grand Cross of the Order of Makios III, I express my heartfelt gratitude to your, Cyprus government and Cyprus people. This honor is not only for Narendra Modi, but of 140 crore Indians. I accept the relationship, shared values ​​and mutual understanding. I accept this honor with great humility and gratitude from all Indians.

He added, “This is the seal of unbreakable friendship between Cyprus and India … I am confident that our active partnership will reach new heights in the coming time. Together we will not only give momentum to the progress of both our countries but will also contribute to the creation of a peaceful and safe global environment …”

Prime Minister Modi also focused on the importance of this visit, which is the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister to Cyprus in two decades. He said, “This is an opportunity to write a new chapter in mutual relations.”

During the visit, the two leaders – Prime Minister Modi and President Christodolidase – held delegation level talks and later visited the historic center of Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus.

President Christodaulids recently expressed condolences to India on the Air India aircraft accident, saying, “Cyprus people are with India in this hour of grief. Our condolences and prayers are with the victims and their families.”

President Christodaulids emphasized deep friendship between the two countries.

“We have historical friendship and mutual belief. Our relations are based on shared historical experiences and values. This is a strong relationship because both of us believe in peace, dialogue, cooperation, democracy and international rules. Both our countries share clear strategic orients, including the importance of maintaining trust and international norms in the law.”

He said that this visit gave an opportunity to discuss bilateral relations, India-European Union relations, regional challenges and cooperation under the Indo-Employment Economic Corridor (IMEC).

Since 1974, Turkey is occupied by one third of the island nation. Cyprus condemned the Pahalgam terrorist attack and said that it would raise the issue of cross -border terrorism by Pakistan at the European Union level.

Expressing gratitude for the support of Cyprus, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “We are grateful to the continuous support of Cyprus in India’s fight against across the border terrorism. A mechanism will be developed for real-time exchange exchange between our agencies to prevent terrorism, drug trafficking and weapons smuggling.”

He further said, “We are grateful to the support made by Cyprus for India’s permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council.”

He also highlighted the importance of India-sprus-gris partnership and said that the Indo-Madhya Pradesh Europe would contribute to peace and prosperity in the economic corridor region.

Prime Minister Modi’s visit is considered important from both political and commercial point of view.

After his visit to Cyprus, the Prime Minister will visit Canada on 16-17 June at the invitation of His Mark Karney to attend the G-7 summit.

In the last phase of his visit, the Prime Minister will visit the Republic of Croatia on June 18, 2025 at the invitation of the Prime Minister of Croatia. This will be an Indian Prime Minister’s first visit to Croatia.
