On Monday, the police in Uttar Pradesh reported a tragic accident that resulted in the deaths of five individuals and left three others injured. The collision occurred around 1:30 PM near Nanoura village on the Srinagar-Belatal road.
Vehicles Plunge into Ditch
According to a senior police official, the force of the crash was so intense that the car dragged the motorcycle for approximately 20 meters before both vehicles veered off the road and fell into a ditch.
Injuries and Fatalities
The police confirmed that two riders on the motorcycle and three passengers in the car lost their lives. The deceased have been identified as Sanjeev, Bharatlal, Ajay, Vinod, and Rampal. Those injured were promptly taken to a government hospital for medical attention.
Possible Cause of the Accident
Authorities indicated that an initial investigation points to a possible tyre burst as a contributing factor to the deadly crash. It was noted that the occupants of the car were returning home after attending a local function.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his condolences regarding the incident and instructed officials to ensure that the injured receive adequate medical care.
25-Year-Old Man Sets Himself on Fire
In a separate incident, a 25-year-old man tragically set himself ablaze in Gwalior district, Madhya Pradesh, reportedly due to distress caused by his romantic relationship. He later succumbed to his injuries, according to police reports.
Details of the Incident
The individual, identified as Ajay Kushwaha from Sikandar Kampoo locality, had been in a relationship with the woman for nine years. Allegedly facing financial pressures related to their relationship, he set himself on fire in front of her house on the night of June 13.
Despite being rushed to the hospital, he died from severe burns. Following the incident, police recorded his statement at the hospital, which led to the filing of charges against the woman, her father, and her brother on June 15, prompting an ongoing investigation.
