Aruna in an interview alleged that Rekha got her removed from a film. Speaking about her all-time favourite director Aruna revealed that she adores and respects K Vishwanath who has made many superhit films in Tamil and Hindi. She appreciated his unique direction and dedication towards his work. She revealed that when she and Rekha worked with him they could barely get sleep at night as he was a very tough director. Aruna also shared that Aurat took nearly six years to complete and her role in the film was not just prominent but also emotionally intense. However because of external pressure it did not make it to the final cut. Besides this Aruna made a shocking revelation about Rekha. Even though both share a great bond and are still connected. She revealed that Rekha was once insecure about her performance and got her removed from a film. The films name was Mangalsutra. Aruna was already confirmed for the part; she even got the signing amount but later she was removed without any warning. Asking for an explanation Aruna approached the producer who told her that Rekha had asked the producer to remove Aruna. Later when Aruna met Rekha and confronted her about it Rekha admitted that if Aruna had won the audiences heart with her emotional performance then Rekha’s would have looked like a vamp and not her. According to Aruna Rekha confessed she didn’t want to take that risk and thus made the call to have her removed.
