Census has been done 15 times in India so far. The census is done after every 10 years. Talking about the last census, was done in the year 2011. However due to covid, the census to be held in the year 2021 could not be done.

Now the census will be done next year i.e. in the year 2026. In which there is snowfall in the states like Jammu Kashmir Uttarakhand Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh, the census will start from October 1, 2026. So in the rest of the country it will start from March 1, 2027.

Through the census, the central government gets information about the people living in India. Which helps the government in starting public welfare schemes and making laws. For this, the government collects information under a process across the country.

For this, officers are officially appointed by the government. Who go to every house and collect information. But let us tell you that people are also being cheated in the name of census.

People who commit fraud in the name of census come to your house. They call themselves census officers. And enter your house and get your personal details. Which later carries out fraud.

That is why you need to be careful with such people. Let us tell you that no census officer ever asks you for your bank details or OTP. Nor does he ask for money.

That is why when a census officer goes to your house and talks about doing the census, first ask for his ID. After that verify his identity. If you feel that a person is fake, then immediately inform the police.
