Samantha Ruth Prabhu made her Telugu debut with Gautham Vasudev Menon's Ye Maaya Chesave, which also starred her ex-husband, Naga Chaitanya, in the lead role. The romantic film, which was released in 2010, had received positive reviews and also did well at the box office. Now, after 15 years, the film will be re-released on July 18, 2025. Recently, there were rumours that Samantha and Chaitanya might reunite for the promotions of the film. However, the actress has denied the rumours. She told Bollywood Hungama, “No, I am not promoting Ye Maaya Chesave with anyone. In fact, I’m not promoting the film at all. I don’t know where this talk is coming from. Maybe fans of the film want to see the lead pair together. But one can’t live one’s life through the audience’s lensing of life.”The actress further revealed that the first shot that she gave was not for Ye Maaya Chesave, but for the Tamil film Moscowin Kavery, which also starred Rahul Ravindran. However, she doesn't remember the film properly as they shot it with long gaps in between. But she properly remembers the shooting of Ye Maaya Chesave. Samantha said, “The second film I shot, Ye Maaya Chesave, I really remember every single shot. The first shot I did for that film was at the gate, with my character Jessie meeting Karthik (Naga Chaitanya) for the first time. And I remember everything about it—every single detail. It was fantastic working with Gautham Menon, who knew exactly what he wanted and how the character should come across.”So, it is clear that Samantha and Naga Chaitanya are not reuniting for the promotions of Ye Maaya Chesave.
