- Semolina – 1 cup
- Urad dal- 1 tbsp
- Finely chopped onion – 1/2 cup
- Mustard – 1/2 teaspoon
- Curry Leaf- 8-10
- Green Chilli – 2-3
- Cut carrots – 1-2
- Sliced tomatoes – 2-3
- Peas – 1-2 tablespoons
- Sugar – 2 tablespoons
- Lemon juice – 2 tablespoons
- Chopped green coriander – 1 tbsp
- Oil- 2 tablespoons (almost)
- Salt – as per taste

- To make rava upma, first of all put rava (semolina) in a pan and dry it while stirring on medium flame.
- After frying for 4-5 minutes, the rava will turn light pink, after that turn off the gas and take out the rava in a big bowl and keep it aside.
- Now put 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan and heat it on medium flame.
- After the oil is hot, add mustard seeds and let it roast. When mustard starts crackling, add urad dal, curry leaves and green chillies and fry for a few seconds.
- Then add finely chopped onion, carrots, tomatoes and peas and fry the onion color until it turns light brown.
- After this, add the fried rava in the pan and mix. After frying the mixture for two minutes, add 3 cups of boiling water and salt as per taste and keep stirring with a spoon.
- After this, cover the pan and let the upma cook for 4-5 minutes. Keep stirring in between.
- After this, remove the lid and add lemon juice and sugar and mix.
- Cook the upma for another minute and then turn off the gas.
- Now put the prepared upma in a glass bowl and take it out in a plate.
- After this, garnish Rava Upma with green coriander. The delicious rava upma is ready for breakfast.
