Tamil actor Arya has come under the Income Tax department's scanner and his house as well as restaurant in Chennai were raided by IT officials on June 18, Wednesday. As per reports, the raids were conducted due to the actor's links with a Kerala-based businessman who was being investigated by the IT department for quite some time now.According to reports, IT officials conducted surprise raids at two branches of an Arabian restaurant chain in Chennai which were established by Arya. While one team of officers searched the Anna Nagar branch, the other team raided the Velachery branch.More than five IT officials stormed inside the Anna Nagar branch in two vehicles at around 8 am on Wednesday morning, which alarmed the locals.However, Arya reportedly sold the restaurant chain to Kerala-based businessman from Thalassery several years ago, and the raids seemed to be a part of the investigation going on around that businessman's workings.Arya’s home on Chennai’s Poonamallee High Road was also combed through by the IT department.The actor is yet to issue an official statement on the entire fiasco.Arya's filmographyOn the work front, Arya is known for a number of films like Arinthum Ariyamalum, Boss Engira Bhaskaran, and Raja Rani, among others.
