This eliminates the hassle of making payments again and again. But the problem arises when you stop using that service and yet money keeps getting deducted every month.

What is UPI AutoPay?
This is a digital facility that allows you to make any payment through UPI Allows you to set an ‘e-mandate’ for a service. Once you turn on AutoPay for a service, the payment will be automatically deducted from your account on the due date – without any reminder or manual process.

Mobile or DTH recharge
Electricity or water bill
Insurance premium
EMI or loan installment
Mutual fund SIP
Gym fees or online classes fees
How to turn off AutoPay Mandate?
If you are no longer using that service and do not want money to be deducted, then follow the simple steps given below:
1. Open your UPI app – such as PhonePe, Google Pay, Paytm etc.
2. Go to Settings or Profile section.
3. Tap on ‘AutoPay’ or ‘Mandates’ option.
4. A list of all active services will appear.
5. Select the service you want to stop.
6. Click ‘Cancel’ or Click on ‘Revoke’.
After doing this, money will no longer be automatically deducted from that service.
What to do if money is deducted by mistake?
If a payment has been deducted without your knowledge and you have not used that service, then first contact the customer support of that company. Some companies give the option of refund within 24 to 72 hours of payment.
If you do not get help from the company, then you can also contact your bank and request to block such transactions.
