Most women love wearing heels, but it can be embarrassing when they start making noise while walking. Try these simple hacks to get rid of that annoying sound

Try to invest in good-quality heels, as noise often occurs when they are old or made from low-quality materials. (News18 Hindi)

Whether it’s Indian or Western wear, wearing heels can enhance your overall appearance. Heels give a smart and confident look, but sometimes they make an annoying clicking sound while walking. This can be especially embarrassing in quiet places like offices, libraries, corridors, or halls, where everyone turns to look. If you’ve experienced this, here are some easy tips to silence your heels and boost your confidence.

Use Nail Polish

If you love wearing heels but their noise makes you self-conscious, keep a bottle of nail polish handy. Apply 5 to 6 thick coats on the bottom of your heels. This reduces friction and softens the contact with the ground, helping to eliminate noise while walking.

Try Rubber Pads Or Sole Grips

To walk comfortably and confidently in heels, invest in rubber heel caps, silicone pads, anti-slip heel stickers, or sole grips. These are easily available in markets and on online shopping platforms. They not only reduce noise but also improve grip and increase the durability of your footwear.

Use Sandpaper To Roughen The Base

Sandpaper, commonly used to scrub rusted iron, can also help silence your heels. Rub it gently on the bottom of your heels to create a rough texture. This roughness helps reduce the clicking noise while walking.

Apply White Paper Tape or Cotton Bandage

Surgical white paper tape, often found in first aid kits, can also come to your rescue. Stick a piece of tape underneath the heel to soften the impact and reduce sound. Alternatively, you can also use cotton hand bandages for a similar effect.

Sprinkle Talcum Powder Inside The Sole

Men’s shoes can also produce noise from the heel area. To reduce this, sprinkle talcum or baby powder inside the soles. It absorbs moisture and decreases friction, preventing squeaky sounds when walking.

Use A Glue Gun

Glue guns have become a popular household tool for quick fixes. Heat the glue and apply it to the heel tip. Let it dry fully, then trim any excess with a cutter. This layer acts like a rubber pad and significantly reduces noise.

Improve Your Walking Technique

Sometimes the noise isn’t from the heel itself, but from the way you walk. Avoid placing your entire heel down forcefully. Try walking with light toe steps and distribute your body weight evenly. Heels often make noise when they hit the floor too hard, especially if they are old or low quality. If the sole has loosened, have it repaired or tightened.
