Lifestyle news: Social media gave the platform to Generation Z where it became necessary to show everything. But now the same platform is causing fatigue, anxiety and ‘foam’ i.e. Fear of Missing Out. The time spent on the screen throughout the day is mentally tired of them, affecting their sleep, concentration and relationship. Now the youth between 18 and 30 years are deciding themselves when they need a break. They are completely separated from social media for a few days or weeks. This process is being called ‘Digital detox’.

‘Digital detox’ becomes a new generation resolution

The biggest difference after digital detox was seen in his sleep. While scrolling the phone throughout the night, it was a habit, now without the shimmering of the screen, it has started feeling peaceful. According to mental health experts, living on social media continuously spoils sleep circles and hormone balance. The youth taking detox admitted that now they get better sleep, dream and are refreshed throughout the day.

The biggest improvement is visible in sleep

Not only sleep, but after social media detox, a change in the behavior and thinking of the youth is also being seen. Earlier, those who ran after likes and comments, now they have started understanding the depth of real relationships. They are now giving priority to the conversation by sitting in the cafe, looking into the eyes of the person sitting in front of the screen.

Heart is returning to real relationships

There has also been a significant decline in anxiety and stress. After the detox, the youth admitted that they have become less irritable, the anger is less and their focus is now on themselves. Psychologists say that social media always keeps the brain in alert mode, which never provides rest to the body. Now Jane Z is reading books out of social media for his mental peace, going on the walk or just talking to himself.

Anxiety less, more association with yourself

These trends are not limited to cities only. Even in small towns and towns, the youth are now feeling ‘Joy of Missing Out’ i.e. JOMO instead of ‘foam’. They now feel that every party, it is not necessary to join every trend. The time he is now missing the things he is missing is connecting them with themselves. This change is bringing confidence in his personality.

Not a city, villages and towns are also changing

To promote this change, some apps have also come out which give reminders and brake mode to reduce screen time. Many youths are now installing the mindfulness app by removing the Instagram from the phone. Digital wellness is now becoming a trend, not a trend – which is being led by the youth themselves who were once considered its biggest user.
