BSNL 5G: BSNL 5G service started in this city, will soon reach other cities of the country..

The wait of millions of BSNL users is over. The government telecom company soft launched the Quantum 5G service, which has been named Q-5G after the suggestion of the users. BSNL said that this 5G service is still in the soft launch phase and commercial rollout has not happened. Recently, BSNL India shared on its X handle that the company's CMD, A Robert J Ravi unveiled the Quantum 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) service in Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana. The company will soon expand this service to select cities of the country, which will provide superfast 5G internet to the users. Customers will be able to enjoy high-speed internet with BSNL Q-5G FWA.

BSNL wrote on the X post, 'Mr. A. Robert J. Ravi soft-launched the revolutionary BSNL Quantum 5G FWA (Fixed Wireless Access) service in Hyderabad. Now it is live in select cities. Experience lightning-fast internet with BSNL Q-5G FWA.'

1 lakh new towers

To increase network coverage, BSNL will install 1 lakh new 4G and 5G mobile towers, the approval of which is pending from the Union Cabinet. Last year, BSNL had promised to install the same number of towers, of which more than 70,000 have been activated. Completion of these installations will lead to a major improvement in connectivity.

To support this major expansion, BSNL has invested Rs 13,000 crore on the maintenance of its new 4G mobile towers for the next ten years. In May 2023, the company awarded Ericsson a contract to install telecom equipment, while Tata Consultancy Services and Tejas Networks got the responsibility of installing mobile towers. As a result, 1 lakh 4G and 5G towers have been installed, of which more than 70,000 are live and operational.
