The 5G is currently in charge and many companies have been providing 5G services for the past few years and now the BSNL, which is a government company, has decided to take a new step. BSNL has completed the preparations for starting its service service. The company has also announced the name of the service. Now BSNL’s 55G service will be known as Q-5G, whose full name is Quantum 5G.
BSNL shared this information on Social Media Platform X (formerly Twitter) and has also thanked all the users who participated in the process of suggesting the name. In the post above X, BSNN said they have successfully launched BSNL Q 5G, ie Quantum 5G. The company has said that the name reflects the strength of the 5G service, the speed and the future, and hence they have chosen the name.
1 million towers will take
BSNL is also getting a lot of support from the central government. Minister of State for Transport Chandrasekhar Pemmasani recently informed that BSNL will be installing 1 lakh new 4G mobile towers across the country. This will be the second stage of BSNL’s 4G service extension. Currently, the scheme is waiting for the approval of the central government.
In the first phase, 1 lakh towers have been installed, the ministers said. Subsequently, the process of installing the second 1 lakh towers will begin after the approval of the Union Cabinet under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Modi. With the help of these towers, he also expressed confidence that BSNL connectivity will reach millions of users.

Emphasis on indigenous technology
The special feature of BSNL’s 5G and 4G services is that it uses indigenous technology. In May 2023, BSNL gave the Ericsson company contract to supply telecommunication equipment, but the tower was handed over to Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Tejas Networks.
The government has invested Rs 13,000 crore for the maintenance of these towers, which will be spent in the next 10 years. So far, BSNL has installed about 1 lakh 4g/5G towers, out of which more than 70,000 towers have already been implemented.
Hope from the future
BSNL’s new venture is a big step towards increasing connectivity in the country, strengthening digital India, and emerging as a strong alternative to private telecom companies. Through the Q-5G service, BSNL will not only provide fast internet but also help to provide strong network connectivity in rural and remote areas of the country.
