Heavy rain alert issued across Rajasthan
Heavy rain alert has been issued in many parts of Rajasthan from June 20 to June 23.
IMD has reported heavy to very heavy rains in Kota, Jaipur, Ajmer, Bharatpur and Udaipur divisions in the past day.
Thunderstorms were also observed in eastern parts of Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions.
Effect of early arrival of monsoon
Due to continuous rains, the water level in rivers and reservoirs has increased significantly.
Waterlogging was observed in urban areas of many districts, some roads and shops were submerged.
In rural areas also, fields and fields in low-lying areas are submerged in rain water.
District-wise rainfall forecast
20-23 June: Heavy to very heavy rains are expected in Kota, Jaipur, Bharatpur, Ajmer and Udaipur divisions.
21 June: Heavy rains are expected at isolated places in eastern Rajasthan.
22-23 June: Heavy rains are likely to continue in Bharatpur and Kota divisions.
Thunderstorms and lightning are also expected in eastern Jodhpur and Bikaner areas.
4-hour emergency weather alert issued
The IMD has issued short-term alerts for the next 4 hours in 12 districts.
Heavy rain, strong winds and possible hailstorms are expected.
Residents are advised to stay indoors, keep an eye on official weather updates and be prepared for any emergency.
