The Election Commission of India has implemented a new process, a new standard operating procedure, regarding voter ID card. Under which now everyone will get the voter ID card made or updated within just 15 days. The commission said that in this new process, every step from the making of the voter card to the delivery of it to the voter's home by the postal department will be tracked. That is, now the entire process from making the voter card to getting it to the voter will be tracked in real time. Not only this, voters will also be sent notification of every step in the form of SMS through DoP.
Let us tell you, recently the Election Commission has launched a new platform ECINet. Where an IT module has been introduced, which will replace the old system and will manage the workflow in a better way. Also, the API of the postal department will also be added to the ECINet platform. This will make it easier to share data and track the status.
Apply online for Voter ID Card like this
If you want to get a new voter card, then you can apply for it online. For this, you have to follow the process given below.
For this, first of all you have to go to the National Voters' Services Portal (NVSP) website https://voters.eci.gov.in.
After this, you have to login by entering your mobile number linked to Aadhaar number, email ID and captcha code.
After this, create an account in your name and confirm it by entering a password.
After this, login by entering your details and then verify by entering the captcha code and OTP.
After this, click on Fill Form 6 for New Voter Registration and fill it.
In the form, you have to give the information given in your Aadhaar and PAN card (name, address, date of birth).
After this, you have to upload a scanned copy of your passport size photo, identity proof (Aadhaar card) and address proof.
After uploading the documents, submit the form.
After submitting the form, you will get a reference number. Keep it safely.
Track the application made for Voter ID Card in this way
If you have already applied for a voter card but you have not received your voter card yet, then you can track it in this way.
First of all go to the website of NVPS.
Now login by entering your Aadhaar linked mobile number, password, captcha code, and OTP.
After this, you will see the option of Track Application Status on the right side of the homepage.
Enter your reference number here. (You must have received the reference number after applying.)
Now select your state and click on the submit option.
