Golden Age Free Zone Establishment (FZE), a subsidiary of Türkiye-based Apex Group, entered into a binding commercial agreement with U.S. nickel refiner Westwin Elements for the exclusive distribution of nickel products in Türkiye and surrounding regions. The contract, valued at around $350 million, covers seven years.

Under the deal, Oklahoma-based Westwin will supply 2,600 metric tons per year of Carbonyl-Nickel Powder and Class 1 Nickel Briquettes, the company announced. These high-purity materials are used in various industrial applications, including plating, specialty alloys, and automotive parts manufacturing.

Strategic entry into global markets

“This agreement marks the commercial takeoff for Westwin and U.S. nickel refining,” said KaLeigh Long, CEO of Westwin Elements. She noted the partnership as the company’s first international step, adding, “This is just the beginning of Westwin’s international growth.”

Westwin is currently scaling up operations at its refinery in the U.S., with plans to increase its output from an initial 18,000 metric tons annually to a projected 68,000 metric tons by 2034.

Boost for Türkiye’s industrial base

Golden Age FZE highlighted the deal as a breakthrough for Türkiye’s powder metallurgy ecosystem. The company pointed to the unique quality of U.S.-refined nickel entering the local market for the first time.

“This holds significant importance for Türkiye’s robust nickel-plating sector, as well as for small-scale firms manufacturing alloys and specialized automotive parts,” said company spokesperson Serdar Demiryol.

Established in 1992, Apex Group operates across construction, energy, and trade. Its subsidiary, Golden Age FZE, has delivered major infrastructure projects across continents and is now broadening its role in critical supply chains.
