According to Dimsum Dailythe incident occurred as passengers prepared to disembark. Chen was retrieving his carry-on luggage when passengers from behind began pushing forward. The actor allegedly said: “Could I please finish collecting my belongings first?”
“Tensions escalated when a flight attendant intervened and explained that the passenger attempting to move ahead was a JMB Diamond member entitled to priority disembarkation. Chen, who believed he also held the same top-tier status, reportedly became frustrated. Witnesses claim he told the flight attendant: “Bring your complaint letter. I will get you fired!”
Chen’s manager later issued a clarification, stating that the situation arose from confusion over status privileges and confirming that Chen is currently in contact with Japan Airlines to resolve the matter.
Now 45, Chen entered the entertainment industry in 1999 after being scouted for a commercial with Hong Kong star Leon Lai. He debuted as a singer in 2000 and later gained fame for roles in the films “Infernal Affairs” and “Initial D.”
He announced his withdrawal from the industry in 2008 following a photo scandal, but returned in 2010.
