Ajay Devgn’s highly anticipated action-comedy Son of Sardaar 2 is now all set to enjoy a solo release at the box office. As per reports from PeepingMoon.com, Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor’s cross-cultural romantic drama Param Sundari has been officially postponed, clearing the July 25 slot for Devgn’s film.

Why Param Sundari Was Pushed?
While industry speculation about Param Sundari’s delay had been swirling for weeks, producer Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films recently made the final decision to postpone the film. According to insiders, Vijan believes that Param Sundari has strong commercial potential, and releasing it in an already crowded July schedule — which includes three other romantic musicals could compromise its visibility.

The film’s music is central to its appeal, and Vijan feels launching it alongside similar titles would diminish its impact. Opting for a solo or less crowded release window is a strategic move to allow the film’s soundtrack and storytelling to shine. A late August release is currently being considered, although a September date may be avoided due to Janhvi Kapoor’s upcoming film Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, releasing on September 12.

Ajay Devgn’s Sequel Secures Advantage
With Param Sundari out of the way, Son of Sardaar 2 faces only one competitor on July 25 — Marvel’s The Fantastic Four: The First Steps. The sequel to Devgn’s 2012 hit Son of Sardaar sees him return as Jaswinder “Jassi” Singh, with a cast that includes Mrunal Thakur, Sanjay Dutt, Ravi Kishan, Sanjay Mishra, and Kubbra Sait.

Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, the film promises a power-packed mix of action and comedy, staying true to the tone that made the original a fan favorite.
