Sai Sudarshan was selected to bat on number-3 in the team before Abhimanyu Ishwaran, where he failed to prove himself.
With his debut in his debut Test match, many unwanted records have been recorded in the name of Sai Sudarshan. This was the first time in the history of Indian Test cricket, when a batsman was out on zero while batting on number-3 in the debut Test innings.
Apart from this, Sudarshan has also become the third Indian batsman who was out without opening an account while batting in the top-3 in the debut Test innings. Prior to him, Krishnamachari Srikanth and Dewang Gandhi were out on zero like this and both of these batsmen landed as openers.
