As the 2025 Bihar legislative assembly elections approach, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) have begun a fierce exchange of criticisms. The political climate in Bihar has become increasingly charged, particularly following Prime Minister Modi's recent visit to the state last Friday. In response, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav sharply criticized the BJP, asserting, “We do not want a pocket PM.”
In the midst of this political turmoil, posters supporting the NDA have appeared throughout the region. Leaders from the BJP and JDU have labeled Tejashwi’s remarks as a ‘direct insult’ to both the Prime Minister and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. One particular poster, prominently displayed at major intersections in Patna, has garnered attention with the phrase: “Mera baap chara chor hai, mujhe vote do.” This poster features a cartoon depiction of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav, humorously illustrated sitting on a buffalo while holding a lantern.
Political analysts suggest that these personal attacks could significantly influence the upcoming Bihar assembly elections in 2025, as well as the monsoon session of Parliament. The ongoing poster war is expected to shape public perception of the RJD. As by-elections draw nearer, the exchange of barbs between the political factions is likely to escalate.
