Tragic Incident: Man Allegedly Murdered on Train in Uttar Pradesh

Incident Overview

A shocking incident has emerged from Baghpat district in Uttar Pradesh, where a man was reportedly beaten to death aboard a moving train. This information was confirmed by local police.


On Saturday, Railway Police Deputy Superintendent Shweta Ashutosh reported that five suspects have been apprehended in connection with this case.


Details of the Attack

According to Deputy Superintendent Ashutosh, the assault occurred on June 20 on the Delhi-Shamli passenger train (number 74023) between the railway halt at Fakharpur and the Khekra station. A group of young men allegedly attacked a man named Deepak.


Deepak, who sustained severe injuries, was rushed to the community health center in Khekra, where he was pronounced dead by medical staff.


Victim Identification

The deceased has been identified as Deepak, son of Rishi, approximately 38 years old, and a resident of Patti Ahiran in the Khekra police jurisdiction. Following a complaint from the victim's family, a case has been registered at the GRP Baraut police station.


Arrests Made

The Railway Police Deputy Superintendent stated that within 18 hours, five suspects were arrested. The individuals have been identified as Sanjeev alias Ponu, Rahul alias Baba, Vishal, Priyanshu, and Siddharth alias Alice, all of whom reside in the Khekra area.


An investigation is currently underway, and necessary legal actions are being taken.


Family Background

Friends of the deceased revealed that Deepak was the only son of his parents. He leaves behind a wife, a 12-year-old daughter, and a two-and-a-half-year-old son. Deepak worked at an electronics store located in Bhagirath Palace in Delhi and would return home every weekend.


Social Media Footage

Three videos related to the incident have surfaced on social media, showing the altercation inside the train compartment and the attackers fleeing by jumping off the train.
