According to a report from The GuardianManchester United goalkeeper André Onana (29) wishes to remain at Old Trafford this summer despite interest from AS Monaco in his services. The Cameroonian stopper wishes to fight for his place at the Premier League club and prove himself to Ruben Amorim.

Monaco have shown an interest in signing Onana, but no official negotiations or talks with Manchester United have been opened. With the 29-year-old eager to remain with the Manchester-based club, that eventuality looks further away. Les Monégasques are also showing an interest in Chelsea goalkeeper Djordje Petrović, who spent last summer on loan in Ligue 1 at RC Strasbourg.

No choice for Onana?

Despite Onana wishing to remain at Manchester United this summer, the former Inter goalkeeper may have no choice but to consider a departure. The Premier League outfit are looking to generate funds this summer to allow Ruben Amorim to sculpt his squad to his tastes, and if there is interest in the goalkeeper’s services, United will have to consider it.
