India's cool desert which opens only between May to October, but needs courage and preparation to reach

Spiti Valley of Himachal Pradesh is called a cool desert, where high mountains and dry litigants make a different world feel. This place is no less than a paradise for adventure travelers and those seeking peace. It can be reached here only from May to October, as the rest of the time the heavy snowfall shuts down the routes.

The specialty of Spiti is its untouched natural beauty and cultural heritage. The villages here, such as Kaja and Langja, are still cherished by their old lifestyle. Local people believe in Buddhism, and the Tibetan effect in their culture is clearly visible. Spiti food, such as Thukpa and Momose, gives both warmth and taste to the passengers. This place is also best for photography enthusiasts, because every corner looks like a painting.

Historical monasteries and natural miracles

Spiti Valley has many ancient Buddhist monasteries, which describe its spirituality. Monastery of the monastery, which is more than 1000 years old, is known for its beautiful texture and calm atmosphere. Tabo Math, called Ajanta of the Himalayas, is famous for its ancient paintings and idols. In addition, the blue water of Chandratal Lake and the surrounding icy peaks mesmerize every passenger. This place is also fantastic for trekking and camping.

Travel planning, way of arrival and necessary precautions

The best way to reach Spiti Valley is from Shimla or Manali. The distance from Shimla to Kaja is about 420 kilometers, and beautiful views are found on the way. To reach Spiti from Manali, one has to cross exciting paths like Rohtang Pass and Kunjum Pass. Bike trips and off-road driving can be enjoyed here. It is necessary to take permits before the journey, as some areas are sensitive. It is best to go to May-June or September-October before the roads are closed in winter.

People here are hospitalized and share their traditions openly. Passengers should rest on the first day to avoid shortness of breath. It is necessary to keep warm clothes, sunscreen, and water together, as the weather changes rapidly. If the mobile network is weak in Spiti, then keep offline maps and cash. This place is sensitive to the environment, so do not spread garbage.
