New Delhi: ISKCON Dwarka recently organised a two-day seminar on Garbh Sanskar, a profound Vedic tradition that focuses on conscious conception and prenatal preparation. The seminar aimed to educate modern couples about the importance of preparing the body, mind, and consciousness before conception to ensure the birth of healthy, virtuous, and spiritually aware children.

Recognised as the first and most essential of the 16 Vedic samskaras, Garbh Sanskar was presented as a timeless practice still relevant in today’s fast-paced, stress-driven world.

The session covered a wide range of topics, including the significance of Garbh Sanskar, lifestyle and behavioural changes before conception, purification of thought and intention, and methods to protect the womb from physical and emotional toxins.

Participants also engaged in discussions around cultivating mental, physical, and spiritual readiness, understanding the impact of stress and digital distractions, and addressing issues like infertility, emotional blocks, and fear of parenthood. Insights were shared on the science of pregnancy, managing marital harmony, and creating a nurturing home environment.

The seminar drew inspiration from the teachings of ISKCON founder Srila Prabhupada, who emphasised Garbh Sanskar as a sacred responsibility to bring spiritually elevated children into the world. His vision underscored that children should be born with purpose, preparation, and purity, not merely by chance.

The seminar proved valuable for couples planning to conceive, individuals preparing for marriage, and parents interested in raising children with strong values and grounded character.
