Discussion about the 8 -hour shift for actors in the film industry began when Deepika Padukone left Sandeep Reddy Wanga’s film ‘Spirit’. It is being said that he had placed some conditions which were not fulfilled. Since then, many artists have given their opinion on this issue. Now Sonakshi Sinha has also supported Deepika in this matter and said that everyone needs time for themselves.
In an interview to India Today, Sonakshi said that she is also in support of 8 hours of shift. He said, ‘I do not know whether Deepika really left’ Spirit ‘or not, but if this has happened then it is a very legitimate reason. I have worked with many actors who shoot only 8 hours. Then why should there be a separate rules for women artists? You can make the schedule according to the need of the film in such a way that the work can be completed in 8 hours.
He further said that I have been in this industry for 15 years and I have also worked with people who work less than me and there were some who used to work more than me. All this is fine, but a person also needs some time for himself. If I am shooting a film where I am very important to stay fit, then I need two hours to go to the gym. Now if you keep me on the set 12 to 14 hours, then it will not be possible.
According to reports, Deepika had laid down some conditions before ‘Spirit’ that working only 8 hours a day, getting a share in the profit of the film and not speaking the Telugu dialogues herself. Director Sandeep Reddy Wanga did not listen to these conditions, after which Deepika separated herself from the film. Later, Tripti Dimri was signed in the lead role with Prabhas.
Sonakshi will now be seen next time in the film ‘Nikita Roy’, which her brother Kush S Sinha is directing. It is a supernatural thriller, in which Paresh Rawal, Arjun Rampal and Suhail Nayyar also play important roles. The film will be released in theaters on 27 June 2025.
