Diljit revealed the horror-comedy franchise’s teaser on his Instagram on Monday, along with the news that the movie would only be available abroad on June 27.

“Sardaar Ji 3 will be released on June 27th, OVERSEAS only,” Diljit wrote as the caption for the teaser. “DIAN LATTAN, FADH LAO BHOOND.”

In the midst of tensions between the two nations, Indian netizens expressed their dismay over the actor’s choice to collaborate with a Pakistani musician, and the comments area of his social media site swiftly descended into a whirlwind of furious replies.

“May we witness the most embarrassing downfall of Diljit Dosanjh in the history of public embarrassments… a kind of downfall that his PR could never salvage,” a user on X tweeted.

“As a Punjabi, I am saying this: Diljit Dosanjh has started to think he is above all else,” another person wrote. He never publicly supports Punjab’s problems, and he is now even forsaking the sector that made him famous.

Although we have no authority to prohibit or unban them, their artists have rightfully disparaged the Punjabi cinema industry.

“I was once his fan, but this is unacceptable,” one remark said. Additionally, it damages our reputation and that of Punjab, which he likes to boast about.”

The dispute follows India’s Operation Sindoor on May 7, which included airstrikes on militant camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, and the recent Pahalgam terror incident on April 22.

After the horrific Pahalgam incident, a number of Pakistani musicians, including Hania Aamir, had their social media accounts blocked in India.

The ‘Sardaar Ji 3’ teaser Diljit posted on his Instagram page, however, isn’t yet available on YouTube India.
