Upcoming Adventure Bikes to Watch For

As the year progresses, motorcycle manufacturers are gearing up to unveil a range of new bikes, particularly in the mid-size adventure off-roader category. This surge in interest can be attributed to the growing popularity of this segment among riders who are eager for adventure. Here’s a look at some of the exciting models expected to hit the market soon.

TVS RTX 300

The TVS RTX 300 is poised to be a significant addition to the adventure touring segment in India. Marking TVS's entry into this category, it will compete with established models like the KTM off-roaders and Hero Expulse. Initially showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo, the bike's launch was uncertain, but recent sightings of a test mule suggest that it will be available soon.

The test mule indicates that the bike will likely feature a 19-17 inch alloy wheel setup, and there are rumors of a more road-oriented variant being introduced as well. It is expected to be powered by the RT-XD4 engine, a 299 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, delivering around 35 Bhp and a peak torque of 28.5 Nm.

BMW F450 GS

BMW is also entering the adventure off-roader market with the F450 GS. This model is set to be the brand's smallest and most affordable multi-cylinder bike, featuring stunning aesthetics and long-travel suspension. The production version has been spotted in testing and appears ready for the road. It is anticipated that this bike will be manufactured in India by TVS, with a launch expected in November or December.

Royal Enfield Himalayan 750

Royal Enfield is set to strengthen its position in the mid-size bike market with the Himalayan 750, aiming to compete with international brands like Kawasaki and Suzuki. The 750 cc variant has been seen undergoing tests, and it is likely that the first model to be launched will be a Continental GTR, a café racer. The brand is also focusing on expanding its presence in emerging markets like Indonesia by diversifying its lineup with new 750 cc offerings.

KTM 390 SMC R

KTM is preparing to launch its first supermoto in India, the 390 SMC R. This model will share many components with the 390 Enduro R and will feature 17-inch wheels at both ends. With extended suspension travel, the SMC R is designed to handle a variety of terrains, potentially creating a new segment within the Indian biking community.
