KL Rahul Scored 100 In 1st Test Vs ENG: Indian Cricket Team batter KL Rahul has scored a brilliantly patient century in the third inning of the ongoing Test match, keeping India ahead of England in this game.

The 1st India vs England Test match in a five-match Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy series is currently underway at Headingley in Leeds. Today is Day 4 of the match, and it seems we are barrelling towards a conclusion in what has been a fascinating game so far. The home team won the toss and decided to bowl first. On the back of centuries by Yashasvi Jaiswal, captain Shubman Gill, and Rishabh Pant, the Men in Blue scored 471 runs.

In response, the English batters batted well, but it was mainly India’s poor fielding and inconsistent bowling by every bowler except Jasprit Bumrah that resulted in them making 465 runs, trailing India by just six runs.

In this third inning of the match, which finds the Indian batter on strike, KL Rahul has clearly been the man who is carrying his team to a massive score once again. The veteran batter is opening for the Indian Cricket Team in this series. In the first inning, he looked comfortable while making his 42 but was unceremoniously dismissed right before the end of the session.

In this inning, first-inning centurion Jaiswal departed early for just four runs. Debutant Sai Sudharsan, who made a duck in the first inning, scored 30 runs before getting out, while captain Gill, who also made a hundred earlier in this game, got out for just eight runs.

With India 92/3 at this point, the one man who stood still on the crease for all this was KL Rahul, who has almost batted for three full sessions, two of them with just Rishabh Pant. And while Pant has taken attacking duties, Rahul has been playing the anchor role, seeing off challenging overs, rotating strikes, and playing defence.

In a match where four centuries were scored before this one, KL’s ton has by far been the slowest, with the 33-year-old taking over 200 deliveries to reach the three-digit mark at a strike rate below 50.

KL Rahul has now become the fourth Indian batter to score a 100 in this Test match after Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, and Rishabh Pant. This means that all four batters who have regularly been a part of the national team have found form early in this five-game India vs England Test series.
