Royal fans have predicted that Prince Louis could soon take on a starring role at a major royal event. The Duke of Kent's granddaughter, Lady Marina Windsor, 32, announced her engagement to Nico Macauley on June 8.

Taking to social media, fans were quick to notice that the Duke of Kent has no male descendants under the age of 12. They then suggested that seven-year-old Louis could soon be entering into his "pageboy era" for the couple's upcoming wedding.

One fan wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: "Hear hear! There's no male descendants of Prince George, Duke of Kent that are under 12 years old. So Marina's closest potential pageboy relative from her father's side is... Louis pageboy era is finally coming?"

Unlike Louis, Prince George, who turns 12 next month, and Princess Charlotte, 10, has previously held duties for three major weddings, as well as other family occasions.

The adorable young royals were given a role in the bridal party for their aunt Pippa Middleton back in 2017.

George and Charlotte also held important roles in the wedding party at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding in May 2018.

Just months after Harry and Meghan's wedding, the youngsters also attended Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank's wedding.

Louis's most recent appearance came earlier this month as the young royal stepped out at this year's Trooping the Colour.

As the senior royals gathered on the Buckingham Palace balcony for a special flypast to mark the end of the celebrations held for the monarch's official birthday, Louis could be seen getting a bit overexcited.

Louis also seemed delighted at the cheers he was receiving from the crowd each time he waved.
