Hubballi: BJP MLA Mahesh Tenginkai on Tuesday demanded the immediate resignation of Karnataka Housing Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan, alleging that the Congress-led state government is steeped in corruption.
Speaking to reporters in Hubballi, Tenginkai said, “This is the most corrupt government in the country. Even Congress MLAs are exposing the corruption within the party.” He referred to Congress MLA B R Patil’s recent remark that houses under the housing scheme are not being allotted without bribes. “This statement, backed by MLA Bharamagouda Kage’s comments, proves the depth of corruption. Either the Housing Minister must resign, or the Chief Minister must ensure his resignation,” he demanded.
Tenginkai further alleged that for the past two years, legislators have not received any development funds. “I have raised this issue several times. Now, Home Minister G Parameshwara himself has said that the state government lacks funds,” he added.
Criticising the Congress government’s financial management, the MLA said, “The state government is blaming the Centre, but the Union Government releases funds on time. It is the lack of financial discipline in Karnataka that has led to this situation. Still, the Chief Minister falsely claims that the state’s finances are in order.”
