Maharashtra NEET Aspirant Dies After Father Beats Her Over Low Mock Test Scores; Accused Arrested

In a tragic incident from Maharashtra's Sangli district, a 17-year-old NEET aspirant Class 12 student was allegedly beaten to death by her father for securing low marks in a mock test. Accused Dhondiram Bhagwan Bhosale, aged 50, is the principal of a private school and has been arrested.The victim, Sadhna Bhonsle, was an excellent student who had achieved 95% marks in her Class 10 board exams and had dreams of studying medicine. She was preparing for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and had taken many practice tests.As per the police, following a low score in a simulated test, Sadhna's father became angry and beat her with a stick several times, leaving serious head wounds. She was assaulted on June 22 and rushed to Ushakal Hospital in Sangli. Sadly, she died before she could be treated.Mother Files Police Complaint After Daughter's DeathThe mother of the victim, Preeti Bhosale, made a formal complaint to the local police station, accusing her husband's assault of causing the death of Sadhna. She made the complaint after the funeral procession of the girl was over.Police have confirmed Dhondiram Bhosale was arrested and booked under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015. He has been sent to police custody until June 24, and the inquiry is still ongoing.
