Ben Stokes team won the match by losing 5 wickets. This is the second biggest run chase in Test history against India. England also holds the record for the biggest run chase. In 2022 England achieved the target of 378 runs in the fourth innings against India in Birmingham. These are Englands two biggest run chases in both Tests. India scored 471 runs in the first innings of the match. After this England scored 465 runs. The second innings of the Indian team was reduced to 364 runs. In this way England got a target of 371 runs to win. With this win England has taken a 1-0 lead in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. This was Indias first match in the World Test Championship 2025-27.
