The fourth part of Panchayat, one of the most talked about series on OTT, has been released. The first three parts of Panchayat have been in a lot of discussion and the audience is also waiting for the next episode of Panchayat. There were a lot of expectations from Panchayat 4 as well, but this series seems weaker than the previous three parts. In this season, the throne of Phulera village head Manju Devi is in danger, and Banarakas’s wife Kranti Devi is giving her a direct competition in the Pradhani election.
Story
Season 4 starts from where season 3 ended. Pradhanji was shot, which hit his shoulder. Now the wound on his shoulder has healed, but the pain and fear inside him still persists. A case has been registered in the name of the secretary, and he is also waiting for the result of his CAT exam. Meanwhile, the election atmosphere in Phulera is heated, and Banarakas, Kranti Devi, Binod and Madhav are eyeing Pradhanji and party like vultures.
To woo the voters, Manju Devi and Kranti Devi are not only trying to foil each other’s election strategy, but are also seen playing tricks like cleaning the village and distributing gourds and potatoes for free.
Here, the Pradhan group is playing its own game, under which Bhushan group tries to bring Chandu to their party, while the Bhushan group, with the help of the former MLA, raids the house of Pradhan and Vikas i.e. Chandan Roy and tries to tarnish their image in the village. In the race to show each other down, small clashes also continue between the two groups, but to know which way this election battle turns and whether the characters are able to reach their destination or not, you will have to watch the series.
Acting
Neena Gupta has done a great acting in the role of Manju Devi, and Sunita Rajwar has brought life to the character of Kranti Devi. Jitendra Kumar has shown his acting skills in the role of Secretary, and Raghubir Yadav has maintained his fun and bubbly nature in the role of Pradhanji. Apart from these, the rest of the actors have also played their characters well.
Review
Directors Deepak Kumar Mishra and Akshat Vijayvargiya move ahead with the story of the series and provide entertainment to some extent and in a few minutes the audience gets acquainted with the characters of Phulera. But then as the episodes progress, the pace of the story starts to slow down. Like the previous season, the lack of interesting subplots is felt in this. However, the scenes of Pradhan group luring Binod to their side by offering food and drink, and the disappearance of money when Vikas’s house is raided, not only entertain but also create an emotional bond. Watching the election battle going on between Manju Devi and Kranti Devi is fun as well as boring. Both the characters are campaigning in their own way, and are adopting various tricks to attract voters.
Overall
Panchayat 4 has many ups and downs, and you will not know till the end who will win. But this time the story got more entangled in elections than entertainment. If you are a fan of ‘Panchayat’ and are fond of village stories and characters, then you can watch this series. Panchayat 4 gets 3 stars from glamsham
