In a shocking incident, a 39-year-old woman was allegedly killed by her 16-year-old daughter and her boyfriend on Thursday evening in Lalbhadur Nagar in Medchal-Malkajgiri district, in a murder that police say stemmed from a relationship that began on Instagram.
According to Balanagar Deputy Commissioner of Police K. Suresh Kumar, the incident happened under Jeedimetla police station limits. The victim’s daughter, Teja Sri, 16, reportedly conspired with her boyfriend, 19-year-old Shiva, and his 17-year-old brother, Yashwanth, to strangle her mother with a saree at around 7:30 PM.
“We received information about a murder in a house in Lalbhadur Nagar. Immediately, the Jeedimetla Inspector and staff reached the spot, inspected, and found the woman dead,” the DCP said.
Police said Teja Sri had previously run away with Shiva earlier this month due to a romantic relationship, after which her mother filed a missing complaint. On June 20, Jeedimetla police located the couple and handed the girl back to her mother.
Later, she allegedly asked Shiva to kill her mother. Shiva, a native of Nalgonda district and an intermediate student, reportedly arrived at the residence with Yashwanth, and both allegedly carried out the murder. Police said that it was called at around 11:30 PM and a case in the matter was registered.
Probe in the case is on, said police.
