A Russian soldier in Ukraine reportedly killed his comrade and then ate him over a period of two weeks in a grizzly case of cannibalism insidePutin's army. The horrific incident was uncovered by Ukraine's military intelligence (GUR) that intercepted a radio call between two soldiers.

The GUR said the recording was further evidence of what it described as the "moral and psychological collapse" of Russian forces. In an excerpt of the conversation, a Russian commander sounds stunned as he tells his subordinate about the incident.

"So Brelok ate Foma, f***ing hell....no one ran the f*** away anywhere," the officer said.

"Brelok killed him, and then f***ing ate him for two weeks."

"No f****ing way, holy sh*t, what the f***. And Brelok was really found dead?" the incredulous subordinate replied.

"Yeah, yeah. They say he was '200' (military slang for a killed soldier). But he ate his partner. So that is something for you to think about."

Ukraine's military intelligence said both soldiers served in the 52nd Separate Reconnaissance Battalion.

The unit is reportedly operating near the villages of Zapadne and Lyman Pershyi in the Kupiansk direction of Kharkiv Oblast.

Russia's army has recruited heavily from prisons in order to boost troop numbers on the frontlines.

Many dangerous criminals, including cannibals, have been offered six-month contracts in exchange for a pardon of their convictions on completion of their service.

Last year, it emerged that the country's most infamous cannibal had signed up to fight in Ukraine in a Storm V unit back in October 2023.

Dmitry Malyshev posted a photograph of himself to social media in military fatigues with fellow convict Alexander Maslennikov.

Already wounded twice, he told the V1 media channel that he came to Ukraine to "fight" against sex education in schools and gays.

Malyshev was sentenced to 25 years in prison in 2014 for a series of brutal killings and crimes.

A member of a ruthless criminal group, he was convicted for the murder of two people, gun running and cannibalism.

In an infamous video, he was filmed cutting the heart out of a former acquaintance and roasting it in a frying pan.
